I live on North Beach with my mom and get to throw down three surfs a day before I head out in the evening. That’s the beauty of Durban.

Also, everything is close and everyone is mates. Our style isn’t forced like the Capetonians. We good people, like to have a good time and if you want to get in on it then leave your pretensions on the plane and lets rock.

The places that I like to eat at are Butcher Boys (170 Florida Road Morningside, 031 312 8248) for the best steaks in town, and Czar (178 Florida Road Morningside,031 312 8001) has the best sushi and some mental fusion food, too. Neo’s (1 Summer Square Ctr, Sol Harris Cres, North Beach, 031 332 2299) is cheap and amazing and you should order the half chicken/prawn combo.

I drink at Czar every Friday night because its got amazing decor, classy women and all my older friends go there. However, when I get messy I’ll go up the road to Taco Zulu (237 Florida Road, Morningside, 031 303 9584) and bang it with all the kids. Drink the chocolate vodka. Then, if I really feel like having a heaver, it’s off to Sasha Night Club (18 Harvey Rd, Stamfordhill), but I’m getting old now so this only happens every month or so…
