You are never too old to learn new things, today’s lesson is all about how you can improve your sex life with seven facts that are backed by science.

Besides the benefits that you gain from sex within the bedroom, it also helps reduce stress, lowers the risk of heart disease and boosts your immune system.

Wanting to shake things up in the bedroom, not quite sure how? According to Medical Daily, it could be easily obtainable with communicating and foreplay. With crazy work schedules, other demands and household chores, which if like any chore-loathing guy, you would leave it for the next day.

It could be a ‘lil difficult to get some time in with your partner and succumb to a ‘subpar sex life’. According to data from a recent General Social Survey, “over 15,000 people surveyed between 1993 and 2006 found respondents who reported having sex two to three times a week were 55 percent more likely to report more happiness.”

Revitalize your sex life which will benefit your physical and emotional health with these ‘mystical’ tips:

Bring On the Compliments

Communication is key bro; by learning how to communicate and understand other’s emotions (yes this might a tough one with women but…) it could lead to a more satisfying sex life.

A 2011 study, published in the Journal of Adolescent Health found that women had higher levels of self-esteem, empathy and autonomy whilst only empathy had an influence on men with more sexual pleasure. Autonomy was linked to the frequency of orgasm for men and a high self-esteem with the pleasure of giving oral sex.

If you forget everything else, just remember that a compliment could come in handy for sexual satisfaction.

Get Your Sweat On

I know I know your partner or the person that you are dating loves the smell of your cologne but I am going to let you in on a little-known fact. When you skip out of using cologne in the bedroom and sweat it out, the smell of your sweat can impact the hormones of the opposite sex (wink wink); which could lead to a more ‘powerful’ sexual arousal for women.

A study published in The Journal of Neuroscience in 2007, found that women’s hormone levels undergo a change when sniffing ‘androstadienone, a compound of male sweat.’

‘Summer Lovin’

Even if you not a Grease fan, Danny (John Travolta) and Sandy (Olivia Newton -John) knew what’s up. Soaking up the sun will not only do wonders for your body but also your boost your sex life, as Vitamin D from the sun can naturally increase your libido by enhancing your levels of testosterone in the blood.

Researchers found that testosterone levels peak during summer and drop during the chillier months; this was published in the Clinical Endocrinology journal in 2010. So do your testosterone levels and libido some good when summer comes around.

The Spicier the Better

This one is more for women but if you not into eating spicy food yet, here is why you should. As men who like to indulge in spicy food are more likely to heat things up in the bedroom, higher levels of testosterone is attributed to a love of spicy food.

A 2014 study, published in the Physiology & Behaviour journal found that the amount of capsaicin- chilli pepper compound that gives food that kick- a man prefers is linked to “social dominance, aggression, and “daring behaviours”.

Pumpkin Peasy and Hot Lavender

This had me a bit baffled but hey, who knows it could work for you. Ditch the expensive cologne and invest in pumpkin pie and lavender instead. Why? Well these smells have been known to increase penile blood flow in men and sexual arousal in women.

A 2010 independent study by the Smell and Taste Treatment and Research Foundation of Chicago, found that an arousal response was produced in 40 percent of men while decreasing anxiety. Women experience the greatest blood flow to their nether regions when smelling liquorice, are you adding these scents to your mental list of aphrodisiacs, yet?

Watching a Scary Movie Could Do It for You and Her

First thing that comes to mind, is how can a scary movie do anything other than leave you reeling with that cold chill, well according to a 2011 study published in the Psychophysiology journal, found that it increases the Sympathetic Nervous System(SNS) by triggering the fight or flight response.

Which increases the body’s sexual desire and is good for low libidos’, a rise in SNS activity was associated with higher genital arousal. It could assist women with achieving sexual arousal and boost their libido.

I know what movie genre you will be picking next…

One Can Never Have Enough Socks

Do you or your partner suffer from cold feet in the bedroom… actual cold feet where you go to bed wearing socks? According to a 2011 study done by the University of Groningen in the Netherlands, you should wear socks to achieve an orgasm.

In the beginning 50% of women reached an orgasm due to being uncomfortable however the end result increased to 80% once they were given socks.

“A pleasant environment, which includes the room temperature, is an important part of making her feel safe, secure, and comfortable,” says Dr Gert Holstegel, the study author and chairman of the center for uroneurology at the university.

Apply these surprising, sassy and scientific tips to your love life and you and your partner will be sated tonight and every night.
