How To Win Over Any Audience
Most of us hate having to talk in front of a crowd, but these simple steps will soon have you presenting like Steve Jobs

August 30, 2011

STEP 1
Amp it up. Use exaggerated hand movements. It may feel over the top, so practice in front of a mirror until the actions look natural.

STEP 2
Use catchphrases. An attorney trying to win over a jury might say a defendant put “profits over people.” Such phrases can make a speech forceful.

STEP 3
Add reference. If you’re talking about a product, hold one up along with a competitor’s to show differences. Props kill monotony.

STEP 4
Ask questions. Pose some of your own to spark a conversation. Your audience will be more enthusiastic–and you’ll avoid awkward silence if nobody raises a hand.
