Who would have thought that being hairy could have its advantages, like women finding you more attractive?

Do not get me wrong, a freshly trimmed beard is hot but according to the guys at AsapSCIENCE; the hairier you are the more women will find you attractive and it could indicate greater health.

Some men just have more hair than others which is no biggy but let’s look what at evolution has to say about hairy men. “All humans have the same number of hair follicles as our primate ancestors,’’ say the guys at AsapSCIENCE; except our hair is less visible now and much thinner.

This might shock you to know that men and women have the same number of hair follicles however men have more of what’s known as “terminal” hair which means it is more thicker and visible which is associated with pubic hair and on your head.

The terminal hair can be seen the most on your back, chest and other places, yes women can also have hair in these places but it will be ‘’vellus’’ hair; which is harder to notice and thinner. What does this have to do with sexual attraction? According to Medical Daily it has everything to do with sexual selection.

“One theory even suggests hairy men are better able to detect parasites on their body, so females perceive more hair as a marker for greater, parasite-free health.”

Hence women could prefer more hairy men as it could be an indicator of health and fitness…

Feel free to disagree, as I for one am not a fan of ‘’too’’ much hair on a man, unless you have a really cool, well-groomed beard.

However a biology Professor, Pavol Prokop found that in areas closer to the equator, more women prefer hairless men as there could be an increase in parasites. You decide on that one or should we leave it at- ‘each to his own’?
